About

Hi, I'm Prathamesh Kasar.

I'm a backend-focused software engineer who works from the business side. I start from the business ask, even when it's one line. I turn it into clear rules and acceptance criteria, build it with tests, and stay with it in production. When something breaks, I find the actual root cause instead of patching the symptom. I work mainly in C# / ASP.NET Core and Python (FastAPI, Django), and I deliver with a spec-driven, AI-assisted workflow on Claude Code.

From fresher to module owner

I studied Computer Science at G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management in Jalgaon, where I led student project teams in my first, second and final years. My final-year project was Career Dendrogram, a Django career-guidance app. I took GATE CSE twice and reached the 84th percentile, which gave me a solid base in data structures, DBMS, operating systems and networks.

I joined Best Brains in October 2025 as a fresher, through a walk-in drive. I had other offers, and chose this one for the learning and exposure.

In the first months I learned five products through knowledge transfers and built my first APIs from scratch: Teacher Management in bbSlate. Then I moved into production support. That's where I learned the most. Reading logs every morning teaches you how a system really behaves, and fixing the root cause became a habit.

That led to ownership. I took over the backend of the bbSlate In-Person module and carried it through its production release: specs, design, code, tests, defect triage, and training the QA and mobile teams who depend on it.

From September 2026 I moved to a spec-driven, AI-assisted way of working with Claude Code. It let me deliver 9 changes in about three weeks without backend defects in regression.

Next, I want more of the same at a bigger scale: owning products end to end, and growing into leading a team that works this way.

What drives me

Five things I care about

  • Finding the real cause

A fix that hides the symptom comes back. I'd rather spend an extra hour proving why something broke.

  • Thinking from the business side

Requirements arrive as one line. Turning them into rules people agree on is half the engineering.

  • Owning it after it ships

Release is the middle of the job, not the end.

  • Learning by building

I pick work for what it teaches me, and I keep building outside work.

  • The long game

Grow into leading engineering teams, and eventually build products and a company of my own.

What I'm looking for

Where I do my best work

  • Backend or product engineering roles where I own modules and production, not just tickets.
  • Teams that value root-cause thinking, clear specs and good tests.
  • Room to coordinate across teams and, over time, lead one.
  • Product companies, funded startups and GCCs. Hyderabad or remote.
